PE

The PE Premium Grant enables us to invest in The Real PE Legacy which ensures that physical activity and Core skills for PE are taught consistently and confidently.

Real PE is a philosophy and approach which aims to transform how we teach PE in order to include, challenge and support EVERY child. It supports teachers and other deliverers to make small changes that will have a significant impact on their learners.

Intention

All Crockerton School pupils will become confident and competent in their physical abilities - they will learn physical literacy by undergoing a progressive journey via our PE curriculum, this is delivered using Real PE resources. They will master the fundamental movement skills (Ability, Balance and Co-ordination)  and become skilled sports people through developing the learning behaviours of physical, personal, social, creative, cognitive and health and fitness.

Implementation

Pupils at Crockerton School receive at least one hour a week of "Real PE". "Real PE" has a unique child centred approach focusing on the children's stage of development rather than their age. It includes challenges and supports EVERY child. 

"Real PE" is fully aligned to the National Curriculum and focuses on the development of agility, balance, coordination, healthy competition and cooperative learning. It develops the key abilities children need to be successful within PE, Sport and across the curriculum.

 All children receive a second hour of PE a week which helps in applying, consolidating and extending Real PE skills. Work in progress to develop this.
